Betsy is the leader of Freedom Centre UK and has accumulated a number of different qualifications over the years which enable her to bring many skills to the role.

Betsy gained a B.Ed.(hons) in Education/Teaching in 1994 with Theology and English as her chosen subjects, and completed the course whilst leading a growing student church on campus as well as completing her Diploma in Counselling. She went on to get married to Andrew and taught in a primary school whilst also being a youth worker for a church in Devon.

Betsy started Freedom Centre UK with the support of her husband Andrew, had four sons and also gained further qualifications such as an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. In 2011 Betsy also founded the Trauma Recovery Centre, a charity with it’s HQ in the Freedom Centre UK building in Bath, and which now has centres in five other cities.

Betsy travels around the UK and further afield training large groups of professionals for her organisation BdT, about the impact of trauma and how to build communities that help traumatised people recover. She is passionate about people journeying to find wholeness and freedom, and therefore integrity. She loves her family of men with huge passion! And coffee, the sea and beautiful art too!
